Southampton Civic Club Annual Meeting (Virtual)
Tuesday, November 16th, 6:30 p.m.

Mark your calendars for Southampton Civic Club’s Annual Meeting of Members on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.  Even if you’re not a member of Southampton Civic Club (SHCC), we encourage you to join us.  Due to the Covid pandemic, the meeting will be held virtually again this year.  Southampton homeowners will receive meeting notices and zoom meeting details in the mail and via emails in the coming weeks.

This year's meeting agenda will include annual SHCC board elections, updates on Civic Club activities and projects, community reports, brief reports from District C Council Member Abbie Kamin and a representative from Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis's office, and a report from the Southampton/Boulevard Oaks Patrol.

Our guest speaker will be Mark Lardas, author of numerous articles and books including Vanished Houston Landmarks, and The Vanished Texas Coast.

DONATIONS FOR SOUTHAMPTON'S PILLAR PRESERVATION PROJECT
Posted on Oct 12th, 2021

The Pillar Preservation Project

The Southampton Civic Club Board has embarked on an exciting project to preserve the pillars that identify the streets in our neighborhood and replace pillars at intersections where they no longer exist.  The Pillar Preservation Project will include revitalizing (straightening, repairing, cleaning) the 23 pillars that are still standing, and adding 27 new pillars on intersections where none exist.  This will include Rice Boulevard and Bissonnet where none originally existed.  An additional four pillars will be installed at the intersections of the boundaries of the neighborhood with “Southampton” engraved on them.

We have set a goal of $40,000 to fund the Pillar Preservation Project to restore a bit of Houston history.  We hope you will join us as a pillar of our Southampton community.
