Residents of are encouraged to contribute to the Southampton / BOCA Patrol Service, a non-profit 501c4 corporation.
All Southampton/BOCA patrolmen are fully licensed peace officers. They have badges, carry guns, and make arrests, and often follow up on our cases on their regular duty jobs.
The Patrol's normal response time is only a few minutes. That is for anything you call them for, too, including suspicious cars and prowlers. Calls are taken in the car by the officer on patrol. Given the budget cuts and understaffing currently plaguing the Houston Police Department, the police cannot be counted on to respond quickly to emergencies; let alone merely suspicious circumstances which you would like investigated and dealt with before they result in crimes.
The Patrol owns two late-model police patrol cars that are equipped with factory police equipment packages and that have police-type identification markings and lights. The cars are maintained by the Patrol Service.
The Patrol is on 24-hour duty. Officers rotate in shifts to provide our neighborhood with continuous service.
The Patrol NEEDS your contributions. None of this is free. Service is only available to our neighborhood as a result of voluntary contributions of the residents of Southampton, Southampton Extension and Boulevard Oaks. Quarterly contributions of $85 are requested. (Contributions are not tax-deductible.) Invoices are mailed to all households in January, April, July, and September. Southampton / BOCA Patrol Service has a new administrative telephone number. Beginning July 1st, subscribers should call 713-825-4558 for billing and payment inquiries and telephone sticker requests. Callers will need to leave their name, address, phone number, and state the nature of the inquiry/problem, and they will be called back shortly.
